Write or wrong?

I am Sarah. I am a writer.

I get the impression it’d be wrong to call myself an author until I’m published within the genre I’m attempting to write for. I’m happy with writer though. I write.

I am trying to get noticed as a children’s picture book author. It’s tough! Unlike any job I’ve attempted or been successful at in the past, it feels like you HAVE to be emotional about it. Without emotion it can’t be done. It is a hellish rollercoaster ride at the worst theme park you’ve ever been to.

The rides there have a reputation for breaking down. You’re taking your life in your hands with each queue you join. The excitement that the wait brings is immense, more so because you suspect you won’t reach the end of the ride intact!

Usually you can disembark with only minor injuries. But you are left licking your wounds and vowing that you won’t join another queue for a while. Only to see bright flickering lights on another, bigger, more exciting ride.

I’m hoping that in the weeks/months/years ahead, I will have exciting news to share about agents and publishers who simply love my stories! Failing that, I will have news about the journey I’m making to find agents and publishers who simply love my stories!

Please check back to read about projects I’m taking part in. Feel free to contact me if you think I might be able to add anything to projects you are working on, or if you just want to tell me what you think of my blog!
